PING Information System

Formerly known as FNDBMS, PING Information System is used by several First Nations communities within the province of Quebec to manage the Last-Resort Financial Assistance Program.

In particular, its many features make it possible to:

  • Keep the beneficiaries’ registration files up-to-date;
  • Calculate monthly benefits;
  • Print out cheques and create direct deposit files;
  • Produce statistical reports.

PING was developed by Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada. Between 2008 and 2012, the responsibility which consisted in managing the system and related data was gradually transferred to the FNQLHSSC.

The FNQLHSSC is currently in the process of developing the Centricase platform, designed to replace PING. This new platform will use recent information system technologies and will respond more effectively to the needs of income security agents.
