  • Winners of the "This is my campaign" Contest
Feb 04, 2015

December 1-6 was Aboriginal Aids Awareness Week. This year, to mark the event, the FNQLHSSC launched a contest entitled "This is my campaign" across the community high schools.

The goal of the contest was to encourage youth to create an awareness campaign with a theme focused on the prevention of Sexually Transmitted and Blood-Borne Infections (STBBIs).

The FNQLHSSC is pleased to announce that the winning project was submitted by Austin Commanda, Alyssa Cote and Haylee Nottaway from the Algonquin community of Kitigan Zibi. The campaign being proposed by the Secondary 5 students will be supervised by their teacher, David Gilbert. The FNQLHSSC will cover the cost of production and dissemination. The students will also benefit from the FNQLHSSC’s support to carry out their project.

Congratulations to these three 16 year-old students who were able to exercise their creativity and submit original ideas!
