• Consultation on the reform of the Income Assistance Program
Mar 13, 2019

The consultation process as part of the reform of the Income Assistance Program is progressing very well. Indeed, the survey aiming to obtain feedback from the clientele has more than 250 respondents.

The regional consultation meeting took place on February 12-13, 2019, during which approximately 100 people, mostly from the social assistance and employability sectors, gathered to identify issues and solutions to ensure client wellness. This regional meeting, rich in content, will be very useful in terms of focusing on the recommendations that will be validated during a meeting in April.

Discussion circles were held until mid-March in order to obtain feedback from the other sectors that were not at the regional meeting (health, social services, economic and social development, employability, education and housing). Feedback from leaders (grand chiefs, chiefs and councillors) will also be sought through an electronic survey or telephone interview.
