New Board of Directors of the
First Nations of Quebec and Labrador
Health and Social Services Commission (FNQLHSSC)

 

Wendake – July 15, 2014—The FNQLHSSC is pleased to announce the composition of its Board of Directors that was newly elected at its Annual General Assembly held on July 10, 2014.

The FNQLHSSC would like to wish the Board members a term filled with new and enriching experiences as part of a common desire to defend the interests of the First Nations in the area of health and social services.

The FNQLHSSC would also like to take this opportunity to express its sincere gratitude to Annette Malec for her involvement and hard work over the course of the past eight years as a member of the Board of Directors.

The community health and social services directors and the representatives of the FNQLHSSC’s member organizations as well as the members of the Board of Directors of the FNQLHSSC, its employees and the Executive Director, Marjolaine Siouï, would like to wish a speedy recovery to Michel Paul and Jeannine Bellefleur who are currently absent for health reasons.

The FNQLHSSC’s management would also like to point out from the outset the diversity and representation of several nations on its Board of Directors, which constitutes an asset for the achievement of its mandates.

The FNQLHSSC’s mission is to promote and monitor the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellness of First Nations and Inuit people, families and communities. It facilitates access to comprehensive health and social services programs that are adapted to the realities of the First Nations and designed by First Nations organizations that are recognized and sanctioned by the local authorities, all the while respecting their respective cultures and local autonomy. The FNQLHSSC also assists communities that so desire to establish, develop and promote comprehensive health and social services and programs that are culturally-appropriate and designed by First Nations organizations.
