• First Nations Health Forum - Let’s take ACTION
Feb 26, 2015

Wendake, Tuesday, February 24, 2015 - The First Nations Health Forum opened this morning in Quebec City under the theme “Take Action Today, for a Healthy Future!” The event, bringing together representatives from various Aboriginal community health sectors, aims to provide a space to exchange and reflect on issues related to First Nations’ health.

During the Forum’s three days, some one hundred people (health directors, nurses, nutritionists, etc.) shall gather to present information and share on a concrete actions approach to bring to the heart of their priorities in their respective work.

Today, following a very interesting lecture by Dr. Margo Greenwood, Academic Leader of the National Collaborating Centre for Aboriginal Health and Professor at the University of Northern British Columbia, on the determinants of health, different blocks of workshops were offered to participants according to their interest: mental health, telehealth, poverty, exclusion, healthy environments, healthy living, well-treatment of elders, etc.

TipiNews is on hand to cover the event for you! View this morning’s news report on the FNQLHSSC website.
