• March 24th - World Tuberculosis Day

A bad cough lasting longer than two weeks, chest pain, coughing up blood or sputum, chills and feeling very tired could all be symptoms of tuberculosis (TB).

This disease should be taken seriously. Even though there was a decrease in TB rates among Aboriginal people in the past 30 years, these rates remain much higher than among other Canadians.

It is therefore very important to know the symptoms and how to reduce risks.

To better understand TB, please visit healthycanadians.gc.ca/tuberculosis. In addition to information on the disease, the website presents videos produced by Aboriginal People's Television Network (APTN) to help you better understand the symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of TB.
