• Team Eastern Door and the North is getting ready for the Games
Nov 01, 2016

Time flies. In less than a year, the North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) will be starting in Toronto. Team Eastern Door and the North (EDN) is therefore busy getting prepared. Indeed, the selection camps are going smoothly and the teams in each discipline are gradually taking shape. In total, 300 young Aboriginal athletes representing various First Nations and Inuit in Quebec will be participating in the Games. Accompanied by more than 60 coaches, managers and mission team members, these young people will be competing with their counterparts from other parts of Canada and the United States in 14 sports events.

Although several teams were already assembled during the summer, some selection camps are still being held this fall. Youth who are interested in being part of a team whose selection days have already taken place are encouraged to contact the coaches. They will be able to tell them whether or not the teams are complete.

All the information regarding the NAIG, Team EDN and the selection camps can be found on the website at

and the

Facebook page for Team EDN.

The Chef de Mission for Team EDN, Sophie Picard, encourages you to participate in large numbers and support these young hopefuls in their efforts and determination.

Be sure to mark next July 16 to the 23 on your calendar!
